Lunch at Rookies

Saturday we took the kids to Black Earth to get new school shoes at The Shoe Box, followed by lunch at Rookies. This is a great place to take kids. It has a miniature baseball field, with whiffle balls and bats for everyone to play with. There was a private party going on, so the kids didn't get to go on the field, but they enjoyed watching the game in progress out the window. The restaurant, bar and even the bathrooms are filled with sports memorabilia (especially for the St Louis Cardinals, who is the owner of Rookies and The Shoe Box, Steve Schmitt, favorite). The door pulls are baseball bats and the parking lot lights are huge baseballs. It was a great time.

  1. Darling! I just wanted to say that I completely agree with your post on the Entertaining mom's blog. My sister had her 5th - her 4th boy and my mom wore black to the hospital as if in mourning. It's all about the oldest and the 2 granddaughters. So sad. Our boys rock! And we are going to be better grandmothers some day from these experiences.
