Book Signing at Williams-Sonoma

We met Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Brent Ridge, AKA The Beekman Boys.

They signed their book, The Bucolic Plague: How Two Manhattanites Gentlemen Farmers.
Waiting in line, we saw a group of prom kids, and I firmly explained to them that they should never, under no circumstances, ever take their prom date to the mall... and to never wear anything but a classic black tux. Ah... these little life lessons.

They asked about the llama, Polka-Spot, their favorite animal on the farm. We have loved watching their show on Planet.

30 Minutes 1 Aisle = Patience is a Virtue

Grandma gave them $10 each to spend how ever they wanted, this meant for me 30 minutes waiting in the Lego/Nerf aisle at Target, waiting for a decision to be made. I could have used a cocktail by the end of this process.

I think S is really rocking the newsboy cap. J didn't get one, so he has been wearing my beret (which I haven't worn since the whole Clinton/Lewinsky mess). J is using his loom for the first time. He really wanted one for Christmas, and he got it from the other Grandma. I really think he will be an artist of some kind when he grows up.

School snack

Looks like ketchup and fries, but is pound cake and pureed strawberries. The boys thought it was really fun, and were envied by their friends. Score one for Mom!

Christmas Countdown Idea

I just got the new Garnet Hill catalog and noticed this adorable Christmas decoration. I know the boys would get a huge kick out of counting down the days, and picking a little treat of the bucket. Maybe I'll try to make one myself.

Pizza Making Lunch

Friends of the boys came over to play today, and we had pizza for lunch. Each child created their own masterpiece, which they proudly showed off. They ate every bite!

Imagine Childhood

Hillcrest Acres blog suggested this website, and I am in love with everything! These are toys and activites that promote creativity and imagination. The realistic stuffed animals, the oudoor adventure things, and especially the fairies and their houses. I want them all. I want them, and I might share with the boys! I would have them in our childrens garden, peaking out, waiting to be discovered.
